Our laboratory identified c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) kinase 1/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase 4 (JNKK1/MKK4) as a prostate cancer metastasis suppressor in 1999 [11] and subsequently as an ovarian cancer metastasis suppressor in 2002 [12]. The gene discussed is MAP2K4; the disease is ovarian cancer.
