HSPA8 and coronary artery disorder: Based on their high degree of structural homology and similar function in protecting against injuries in cardiac muscle cell, it is conceivable that the main constitutively-expressed member of the HSP70 family, HSPA8 might also be involved in the development of CHD and that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and haplotypes of this gene may be associated with CHD and contribute to CHD susceptibility.
