Switching of FGFR expression to the IIIc isotypes has been shown for FGFR2 and FGFR1, and was described to be associated with tumour progression in prostate (Yan et al, 1993; Carstens et al, 1997; Feng et al, 1997) and bladder cancer (Chaffer et al, 2006). This evidence concerns the gene FGFR2 and urinary bladder carcinoma.
