Accordingly, based on the known heritability of recombination hotspots, and the demonstrated schizophrenia relevance of both recombination (Figure 4C) and positive selection (Figure 5 in [11]) in GABRB2, recombination-selection co-occurrence could be a potential molecular genetics mechanism contributing to schizophrenia development.
