Five genes (62.5%) demonstrated tumour acquired methylation (EMILIN2, SALL1, DBC1, FBLN2 and CIDE-A) (Table 1, Figures 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), whilst the remaining 3 (COMP, EPSTI1, SIM2) showed equal methylation in the corresponding normal breast tissue DNA. This evidence concerns the gene EMILIN2 and neoplasm.
