PDPN and laryngeal carcinoma: Similarly, our findings indicate that podoplanin is also frequently abnormally expressed in the early stages of laryngeal tumourigenesis and patients carrying podoplanin-positive dysplastic lesions (scores 2-3) exhibit a higher incidence of laryngeal cancer than patients with negative expression (51% versus 30%), although these differences did not reach statistical significance (P = 0.071).
