HAX-1 nuclear localization was also observed by immunofluorescence in about 21% of cells in HAX-1-GFP-transfected MCF-7 breast cancer cell line, thus confirming IHC data, indicating that HAX-1 is present, at least to some extent, in the nuclei of breast cancer cells (Additional files 1 and 2). This evidence concerns the gene HAX1 and breast cancer.
