CD14 and neoplasm: It is possible that temporarytargeting of CD14 MDC, e.g. by CD14 antibody [109],small interfering (si)RNA [116], or otherapproaches targeting tissue macrophages, may result in the regression ofunstable (lack of autonomic innervation) "tissue control units" inmalignant tissues, leading to activation of NK cells, and subsequent regressionof malignant stroma and elimination of tumor cells.
