We looked at the following conditions for their efficacy in diagnosing OEC and for accessing the sensitivity as well as specificity in diagnosing the malignancy associated with ovarian cancer: (1) CA125 used alone; (2) E2F5 used alone; (3) both E2F5 and CA125 negative; (4) at least one positive for either CA125 or E2F5; (5) at least one negative for either CA125 or E2F5; and (6) both positive for CA125 and E2F5,. The gene discussed is MUC16; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
