RAF1 and colorectal cancer: The ability of MCP1 and later analogs such as MCP110 to inhibit Ras- but not Raf-mediated transformation in fibroblasts, colorectal cancer cell lines and melanoma cell lines suggested that their action was at the level of Ras rather than Raf, but more recent evidence indicated that MCP compounds also have activity towards melanoma cell lines in which B-Raf is mutated [23].
