HMOX1 and coronary artery disorder: We and others have reported that human subjects carrying longer (GT)n repeats have increased susceptibility to the development of coronary artery disease [4,24,25], post-angioplasty restenosis [26-28] and advanced peripheral artery disease [29], indicating that HO-1 promoter polymorphism is likely to act as an candidate in the genetic determinant involved in vascular disease.
