Thus, based on the abovementioned data, the present study was designed to analyze the prevalence of common TLR SNPs, namely, TLR2-R753Q, TLR4-D299G, and TLR4-T399I, in a cohort of smokers with and without COPD, in order to demonstrate their possible contribution to disease pathogenesis and phenotype. Here, TLR2 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
