To date, genetic variants in thecomplement factor H (CFH) gene on chromosome 1q32 [2-7] and in twotightly linked genes — age-related maculopathy susceptibility 2 (ARMS2),also known as LOC387715, and high-temperature requirement factor A1 (HTRA1)on 10q26 [8-13] — have demonstrated the strongest replicableassociations with AMD across multiple ethnic groups. Here, CFH is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
