This group included transcripts relevant to PD cellular pathways, such as mitochondrial function, synaptic transmission, neurotransmitter and ion channel activity, and therefore, could represent a set of disease-driving genes that are common to both male and female PD (e.g. CHRNA4, CLTC, COX7C, DRD2 and NDUFB2). Here, NDUFB2 is linked to Parkinson disease.
