After adjusting for age and gender, binomial logistic regression analysis indicated that methylation of promoter regions of the MGMT1 locus (odds ratio (OR), 1.57; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.01 to 2.43; p = 0.04), MGMT2 locus (OR, 1.50; 95% CI, 1.14 to 1.96; p = 0.003), and RASSF1A gene (OR, 2.02; 95% CI, 1.03 to 3.93; p = 0.03) were associated with an increased risk of developing multiple CRC (Table 4). Here, RASSF1 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
