CXCL8 and Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy: When Funding et al. [32] determined 17 different cytokines (IL-1b, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-10, IL-12p70, IL-13, IL-17, TNF-α, and INF-γ), growth factors (granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factor and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor), and chemokines (CXCL-8, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and macrophage inflammatory protein-1β) in the aqueous humor of patients with endothelial immune reaction, they found that all these factors were statistically significantly increased compared to patients with cataract or Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy.
