When Funding et al. [32] determined 17 different cytokines (IL-1b, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-10, IL-12p70, IL-13, IL-17, TNF-α, and INF-γ), growth factors (granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factor and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor), and chemokines (CXCL-8, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and macrophage inflammatory protein-1β) in the aqueous humor of patients with endothelial immune reaction, they found that all these factors were statistically significantly increased compared to patients with cataract or Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy. The gene discussed is IL4; the disease is Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy.
