Accumulating evidence has indicated that inflammation level which is caused by the up-regulated expression/activity of COX-2 and mPGES-1 is severer in intestinal-type gastric cancer compared with diffuse-type one, although both types of tumors are related to Helicobacter pylori that are known to induce inflammation to the infected site [14,25-28]. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and gastric cancer.
