VEGFA and neoplasm: Anti-angiogenic agents used to target tumour neovascularization can be classified into two groups: agents binding the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), such as the humanised monoclonal antibody (Mab) bevacizumab or the soluble decoy receptor VEGF Trap and second, the receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) targeting the VEGF receptor family, such as sunitinib and sorafenib.
