Besides age, smoking was the only traditional CVD risk factor which predicted CVEs in this study, this is in line with the results of Toloza et al [8] Lipid derangements including hypercholesterolemia, elevated ApoB/ApoA ratio, low HDL and hypertriglyceridemia, did not remain statistically significant after adjustment for age. Here, APOB is linked to hypertriglyceridemia.
