Included among the genes epigenetically silenced in breast cancer are genes involved in cell cycle regulation (p16INK4A, CCND2, RASSF1A), cell signaling (SFRP1, SFRP5), differentiation (HOXA9), immortalization (p57), and DNA repair (MGMT, BRCA1) [6-12]. This evidence concerns the gene RASSF1 and breast cancer.
