Included among the genes epigenetically silenced in breast cancer are genes involved in cell cycle regulation (p16INK4A, CCND2, RASSF1A), cell signaling (SFRP1, SFRP5), differentiation (HOXA9), immortalization (p57), and DNA repair (MGMT, BRCA1) [6-12]. Here, RASSF1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
