The AdnaTest Breast Cancer Detect is considered positive if a PCR fragment of at least one tumour-associated transcript (Muc-1, GA733-2 or HER2) is clearly detected (peak concentration of >0.30 ng μl−1 with the BioAnalyzer 2100), it is considered inconclusive if peaks have an intermediate concentration (0.15–0.30 ng μl−1) and as negative if peak concentrations are <0.15 ng μl−1. This evidence concerns the gene EPCAM and breast carcinoma.
