Thus, the short-lived up-regulation of TCF-4 by 1,25(OH)2D3 in CaCo2 cells that we report, here, may facilitate 1,25(OH)2D3-induced apoptosis in cells with abundant β-catenin, that is analogous to butyrate in other colon cancer cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene TCF4 and colonic neoplasm.
