To date, few pathologies have been genetically associated to TLR2 variants; an increased risk to develop prostate cancer has been traced to TLR1 (and TLR6 and 10 which are located on the same chromosomal locus, [19] and more recently, resistance to leprosy was linked to the frequent I602S TLR1 allele [20].
