VEGFA and malignant glioma: Although radiographic response among malignant glioma patients is traditionally based on changes in the largest bi-dimensional product of enhancement after gadolinium administration (Macdonald et al, 1990), anti-VEGF therapy can significantly and progressively worsen non-enhancing oedema on MRI that may be due to infiltrative disease, despite stable or even improved contrast-enhanced images (Ananthnarayan et al, 2008; Kang et al, 2008; Norden et al, 2008; Zuniga et al, 2009).
