Anti-TNF therapy has been applied to various types of serious inflammatory disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis (Genovese et al. 2005), Crohn's disease (Camilleri 2007), ankylosing spondylitis (Maksymowych et al. 2005), and spondylarthropathy (Kruithof et al. 2005), as well as to degenerative disease of the intervertebral disc (Autio et al. 2006). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and rheumatoid arthritis.
