At 10q26, variants at two genes in strong linkage disequilibrium, namely age-related maculopathy susceptibility 2 (ARMS2 [MIM 611313]) [17], [20] and HtrA serine peptidase 1 (HTRA1 [MIM 602194]) [21], [22], were strongly linked to AMD susceptibility. Here, HTRA1 is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
