In an effort to understand the latent and lytic gene expression profile during early stage of EBV infection we used semi-quantitative real time PCR to determine the levels of transcript for the latent genes EBNA-1, EBNA-2 and LMP-1 [7] as well as the immediate early, early and late lytic genes BZLF1, BALF5 and BcLF1 [14]. Here, PDLIM7 is linked to Epstein-Barr virus infection.
