Similarly, using immunohistochemistry, Zhou et al. [34] showed that overexpression of phosphorylated mTOR protein in breast cancer is an indicator of decreased disease-free survival rate, whereas decreased expression of phosphorylated Akt and phosphorylated 4E-BP1, which is an mTOR downstream target, are indicators of increased disease-free survival rate.
