In accordance with our data, a study of prognostic markers in colon cancer stage II and III, treated with surgery with or without adjuvant 5-FU and leucovorin (calcium folinate) therapy, showed an improved outcome in patients with a high percentage of Ki-67-positive tumour cells (Allegra et al, 2003). The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
