ApoB minisatellite, LPL (Lipoprotein lipase) and Leptin tetranucleotide loci are good candidates for association studies as there are several reports showing that the alleles at these loci may be associated with hypertension, obesity and coronary heart diseases [1-7] The characteristic of ApoB minisatellite, LPL and Leptin tetranucleotides is given in table 1. The gene discussed is APOB; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
