Identifying the associated gene(s) from the genetic association evidence for the FADS1-2-3 locus in humans is complicated by the fact that multiple LD blocks have been associated with several different but related lipid traits [38], [50]–[57], as well as coronary artery disease [55] and nonfatal myocardial infarction [57].
