In Cox univariate regression analysis including all 525 patients, increasing tumor tissue TIMP-1 concentrations were not significantly associated with DFS or OS neither when analyzed as a continuous log-transformed variable (DFS: HR 1.15, 95% CI 0.93-1.42, P = 0.20; OS: HR 1.17, 95% CI 0.88-1.57, P = 0.28) nor as a dichotomized variable (DFS: HR 1.13, 95% CI 0.88-1.43, P = 0.34; OS: HR 1.24, 95% CI 0.89-1.71, P = 0.20). This evidence concerns the gene TIMP1 and neoplasm.
