Because methotrexate is widely used to treat inflammation-related disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and our data show that DHFR inhibition increases the potency of GSK3 inhibitors, we tested whether methotrexate could enhance the anti-inflammatory effects of GSK3 inhibition on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
