While the in vitro results cannot be correlated directly to the consequences of HIV-infection in vivo, a unique finding of our bioinformatics analyses is that activation of T-cells results in the production of a diverse array of protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs), serine-threonine kinases, lipid kinases, adhesion molecules and other diffusible signaling proteins. The gene discussed is MARK2; the disease is HIV infectious disease.
