In endometrial adenocarcinomas the PCNA index has been found to correlate with tumor grade, depth of myometrial invasion, and recurrence risk (Garzetti et al. 1996a), and it has been suggested that PCNA staining can be used as a method of pre-operative identification of high risk patients (Garzetti et al. 1996b).
