CD8A and cervical carcinoma: In the general population, tumour infiltrating lymphocytes in cervical cancer have been associated with a depressed function of cytotoxic T cells [7,8]; a down-regulation of CD25 (α chain of the IL-2 receptor-IL-2Rα) activated cells [9] and a decreased proportion of CD4+ T cells with a reversed CD4/CD8 ratio [10].
