We observed in our tumor samples a downregulation of miR-125a-5p, miR-125b, miR-126, miR-145 and let-7g genes, which have been shown to be related to hormonal settings and ErbB2 status of the tumor: miR-125a-5p and miR-125b downregulate ErbB2 and ErbB3 expression [31], miR-126 and let-7g are upregulated in ErbB2-negative tumors, whereas miR-145 is upregulated in ErbB2-negative tumors and upregulated in estrogen-receptor-positive and progesterone-receptor-positive tumors [13]. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and neoplasm.
