The product of the HER-2/neu (c-erb-B2) oncogene was also found to be frequently overexpressed in urinary bladder cancer (Lipponen et al. 1991) and to correlate with increased tumor grade, lowered cancer-specific survival, and a higher incidence of metastatic disease (Sato et al. 1992). This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and metastatic neoplasm.
