HLA-DRB1 and myeloid sarcoma: The HLA-DRB1*1501 allele, encompassed within the DR2 specificity, was found to be strongly associated with MS in North American, in North European Caucasian patients and in White Brazilians from Rio de Janeiro and from Sao Paolo [13], [19]–[23], while the DRB1*1503 allele has been associated with MS in Mulattos from Sao Paolo and in Afro-American patients [21], [24], but not in Afro-Brazilians from Rio de Janeiro [19], [25].
