In contrast, men who had a variant homozygote C/C genotype in ESR1 Ex1+392T>C and G/C, C/C genotype in ESR1 Ex1-192G>C had a decrease in the odds of developing prostate cancer by 63% (P = 0.017, p-value for trend = 0.015) and 75% (P = 0.004) compared to wild type homozygote T/T and G/G genotype, respectively (Table 3). Here, ESR1 is linked to prostate carcinoma.
