Genes that can be considered as markers for the following cell types were upregulated in aneurysms (Additional Files 5 and 6): neutrophils (Csf3r); T lymphocytes (Cd3d) and B lymphocytes (Blnk, Cd72, various immunoglobulin genes); and monocyte/macrophages (Cd14, Cd68). The gene discussed is CSF3R; the disease is aneurysm.
