Interestingly when grouped together, infants with vascular-related morbidities (e.g., bronchopulmonary dysplasia, retinopathy of prematurity, intraventricular hemorrhage and skin hemangioma) have shown a trend towards higher Tie2 RNA levels but due to the small sample size we could not achieve statistical differences. The gene discussed is TEK; the disease is retinopathy of prematurity.
