So far, the only human insulinoma-derived cell line (CM) lacks persistent and glucose-induced insulin secretion and presents several chromosomal abnormalities, specifically including the chromosome 11 tetraploidy, with three out of four chromosomes 11 being aberrant and showing a chromosomal material translocation at a specific locus of the human insulin gene [2,22]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and pancreatic insulinoma.
