By multiplying the proportion of HER-2-positive breast cancer with the overall breast cancer incidence, we estimated that the age-standardized incidence of HER-2-positive breast cancer was 12.2/100,000 from 1982 to 1986, 12.1/100,000 from 1989 to 1992, and 13.0/100,000 from 2004 to 2005 (age-adjusted to WHO standard population; Table 2, 3rd column). The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
