The important role of Treg in PD was experimentally demonstrated in a MTPT (N-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine)-treated mouse model: Treg that highly expressed Foxp3 and IL10 was found to mediate neuroprotection through suppression of microglial activation [93].
