Considering that the ATTG1 allele may result in decreased NFKB1 message and p50/p105 NF-κB protein production, a detrimental role of NF-κB-activation in the initiation and progression of pathogenesis in DCM can be presumed and much further work will be needed for a complete understanding of its mechanism. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and familial dilated cardiomyopathy.
