Concerning NSCLC, some recently published Phase II–III studies have shown encouraging results due to combination of anti-VEGF monoclonal antibodies (bevacizumab) and chemotherapeutic agents, such as carboplatin, paclitaxel or anti-EGFR inhibitors, such as cetuximab or gefitinib (Morelli et al. 2006; Robert et al. 2005; Hebst et al. 2005). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
