In this study blockade of NF-κB activation by SN-50, a synthetic peptide that impedes NF-κB signalling by inhibition of nuclear translocation of NF-κB, abrogated LPS-induced upregulation of the u-PA system and attenuated tumour cell adhesion and invasion, indicating that NF-κB activation is a prerequisite not only for the transduction of LPS signals in tumour cells, but also for the enhanced tumour cell metastatic ability induced by LPS stimulation.
