In the RA group, urinary 8-IP correlated positively with age and smoking as well as with 10 year cardiac risk (r = 0.552, p < 0.001), E-selectin (r = 0.422, p = 0.004), TG (r = 0.392, p = 0.008) and CRP (r = 0.313, p = 0.034) and negatively with HDL (r = -0.418, p = 0.005). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and rheumatoid arthritis.
