Additional support is provided by the observation that tumours in SBC-2 (SBC-2-CXCR1 and SBC-2-CXCR2) and A375P (A375P-CXCR1 and A375P-CXCR2) groups had increased tumour cell proliferation and survival, further suggesting the importance of CXCR1 and CXCR2 in the regulation of phenotypes associated with melanoma growth. The gene discussed is CXCR1; the disease is melanoma.
